Basic, functional patch bay with some signal loss
Zaps 02.04.2022
I bought this as a replacement for a previous unit Given away over ten years ago... mostly because of the cost and the lack of options in the 1/4in jack category. Its continued existence in the Behringer line shows it’s a workhorse.

The switching options for normalled, half normalled etc are convenient if you put the unit at the top of an open rack.

So it’s functional and practical - lots of switching and routing options and lots of channels. HOWEVER: I did a null test to see what kind of signal degradation is happening through this unit and, of course, there’s a lot. So you get what you’re paying for - a convenient patching system which (for me anyway) opens up the options with analog gear, but you’re compromising the signal path when you use it. Efficiency vs quality, your choice....

RJ
Not convinced
Rob J. 25.05.2020
I bought this as Thomann stopped selling the Samson S-patch Plus which is a solid product.
I thought this would be okay.
Setting up is pretty straight forward & good. The switches to achieve this are on the top of the unit so you don't need to take it apart which is good in my opinion. You just need to remember to either leave room above the unit or be sure you can slide it out from the rack if you ever need to make some changes.
The jacks are slightly wobbly, which didn't concern me too much.
However, after a month of light use the unit has started to generate noise & crackles when being patched. I need to double check that it is this unit that is responsible (pretty sure though). I will then be contacting Thomann for an alternative.
Maybe its just a one off but like the heading states I'm not convinced about this product.
Bring back the Samson ;-)

Unreliable

While I own some great behringer synths, this product is a disappointment. The connections are not reliable at all.

H
affordable patchbay that does the job
HowieCapowie 04.09.2019
I recently bought the Behringer PX3000 Ultrapatch Pro after having read some reviews of it. it's and very affordable unit. Build quality at first seemed to be sturdy. However when hooking stuff up to it I noticed that the connection on the back seemd to be a bit loose. The ones i front seemed to be firm. There was also a noticeable noise if you thouch and move the inserted cables slightly. I'm not sure if the loose jack connection on the back is only on my unit, or if this is common to all. At this price range corners had to be cut somewhere.

That said, I'm new to the patchbay thing, so I wasnt sure what to expect. since this is planned to be a more or less fixed installation in oure rehearsal room, I'm not too worried about the backside pannels jacks. I'm going to give the unit a few weeks to try out some ideas and then decide if I'm going to buy the same for the next 2 units I have planned, or if I should try another brand. I cannot of yet say if it has any significant imprint on the sound passing through it. I havent noticed it yet. for these reasons I will give it 3 stars out of 5 for the total. Feature wise - It got all what I need and expect from such a unit.
