I played some 'fuzz faces' already, but this is the first time Hendrix came immediately in my ears with this Octavia clone. This pedal reminds me so much about the intro of Purple Haze (Tough I don' know if it actually was the Octavia) that my first notes were an attempt to play this.
I can't compare with a real Octavia. But what I can say is;
It definitely has a vintage fuzz sound. A velvet octave sound (like the warm audio foxy tone) that maybe isn't going to cut troughout the mix like a modern fuzz, but it has that hairy soundquality I like a lot.
So I am glad I bought it,because I can't afford to buy all the classic fuzzes for a real price.
Next move : The Behringer Bender. It also sounds on you tube like a really usefull sound, altough that second mode is said to be doubtfull.

Awesome sounding and no frills Octavia that won't break the bank
TheBedroomRocker 08.03.2025
The pedal sounds great and authentic, is simple to use with modern features (true bypass, 9V center negative power), is sturdy and well built in an awesome vintage looking metal enclosure, and won't break the bank.
It has the exact Octavia sound I had in my head from many famous recordings. Lowering the amount of boost or rolling back the volume on the guitar cleans up the sound nicely and accentuates the octave more. It's a one-trick poney, so 3 stars for the features (some other Octavia pedals offer the option to remove the octave from the circuit for example). But otherwise 5 stars for all other categories and a definitive recommendation!
