This pedal looks the part in pictures (similar to more expensive BOSS pedals), however that's about all it does. I tested this with 3 amps, a Marshall JVM 410H, Blackstar HT5R and ENGL Richie Blackmore and it was pretty useless with all of them.
I bought this as it had support for effects loop gating, however like the JOYO I had before it, it simply couldn't mute the hum enough without turning it close to all the way up and then it cuts too hard, ruins the sound and allows for little to no sustain. I mainly play hard rock and metal so maybe for lower gain setups it would work better but it seemed to be overwhelmed by my relatively small pedal board, most of the noise on which comes from a Maxon OD 808X and MXR Jimi Hendrix 70th Anniversary Octavio.
Now moving on to the build quality, I'll just start by saying this pedal is of plastic construction, so don't expect it to stand up to any abuse if you like to stand on or stomp hard on your pedals (I know some people who do). This surprised me as my cheaper JOYO is metal, although quite light and crappy metal, it still feels better than plastic. Although I ended up giving away my Behringer NR300 as it was totally useless in my setup and reverted to the JOYO which was ok in the effects loop but has since died while this one lives on. Although in the end my friend ditched this one and bought an ISP decimator II after getting too frustrated with this one
So in conclusion, if you are on an extreme budget, then this is an ok product I guess, but there are simply better noise gates out there for a little more or around the same price, so all in all I wouldn't recommend it unfortunately.
