I've been a Behringer fan for years. Well made products at affordable prices. My brother asked me to get him a sound system for a small living room. He wanted speakers with not too much bass response so as not to annoy the neighbours. He is not a fan of surround sound. When I saw these I thought hell yeah! They come well packed and are a neat & tidy size. Wall brackets are included. Which makes great value. Paired with convection cooled t.amp S100 MKII Amp, they deliver clear and crisp highs and mids and just enough bottom end for his needs. They suit the size of room perfectly 3M X 8M. For a larger room you would need a larger, more powerful pair of speakers. These speakers fit the space perfectly. For someone who likes plenty of bass, you would definitely need to add a Sub-Woofer.
Although not quite the same, these little puppies are on a par with JBL control 1's but are almost half the price. Definitely worth the money for a small space. They would also make for a great pair of reference speakers in a home studio with the addition of a Sub for the lower frequencies.

Good speakers that have a pretty flat frequency response coupled with decent efficient output (SPL)
HOWEVER the frequency range in the Bass is not good to use stand-alone for music, let alone MONITORING, from 80 hz down the bass falls from a steep cliff ( _ 12 Db) so they REALLY need a good sub woofer to enjoy the full musical range... i tested this hooking them up on the base woofer of a pair of excellent B&W HiFI speakers, and only then the sound was really enjoyably.
Compared to these Hifi speakers the behringer pair goes a liitle louder in the mid range (not bad for a monitor) guesstimate +2 Db from 1500 to 4000 Hz, the higher freqs are EXCELLENT (good tweeter) and project with good dispersion in the room.
overall I"m very pleased with them, especially for the very low price, but now on the hunt for a GOOD subwoofer.

would recommend it for cafes and indoor installation.. not for studio use though.
