The KeyLab goes mini

With the MiniLab 3, shown here in its white incarnation, Arturia has taken the portable version of its KeyLab keyboard range to the next level by introducing a huge update with lots of new features to the MiniLab concept. The new transport function for controlling the DAW and the arpeggiator and chord mode in particular set the MiniLab3 apart from its predecessor, which now also features a small display and a clickable browser knob for even easier preset navigation through the included Analog Lab Intro software. In addition to the 25 keys and a touch-sensitive pitch bend and modulation wheel, the MiniLab 3 now comes with eight assignable encoders, four faders, and eight velocity-sensitive drum pads for controlling MIDI-compatible software such as Ableton, Analog Lab, and many others. The streamlined design and metal-reinforced construction in turn make the MiniLab3 the perfect controller when out and about.

All-out portability

As part of Arturia's KeyLab series, the MiniLab 3 provides a compact and portable version of the popular keyboard controller. Just like its bigger brothers, it features seamless DAW integration by default, such as for Ableton, and an impressive range of software synth presets. The infinitely variable encoders and the new faders are ideal for controlling various parameters, as they do not cause parameter jumps like standard encoders do. Users can now select the desired presets via the new browser knob, which shows information about the currently used parameters and presets via a display on the controller itself. Intuitive operation combined with a compact yet robust design invites anyone to let their creative juices flow, even when they are not in the studio.

More than an entry-level controller

The easy integration of the MiniLab 3 in combination with the versatile software package makes this controller the perfect entry-level choice for use in productions and at live gigs. With two outstanding piano emulators made by UVI and Native Instruments, Arturia's proprietary Analog Lab Intro software suite, an Ableton Live Lite licence, and included subscriptions for Melodics and Loopcloud, this package includes everything users need to start creating professional productions. Those seeking to use the controller for other purposes can tailor the controller's functions to their individual needs using the Arturia MIDI Control Center, and thanks to the new MIDI interface, the MiniLab 3 can now also directly control hardware synthesizers.

About Arturia

Arturia's success story began with software emulations of well-known analogue synthesizers such as the Moog Minimoog, Sequential Prophet-5, and Oberheim SEM. The popular software instruments included in the V Collection are still flagship products of the French developer today. Over time, Arturia has gradually expanded its range and now also offers a host of hardware devices, ranging from synthesizers and keyboard controllers to sequencers. Since then, the former software developer has thus also become a household name in the world of analogue synthesizers and other equipment.

Connections on the Arturia MiniLab 3 White

Be creative - anytime, anywhere

The Arturia MiniLab 3's robust and metal-reinforced construction not only provides a space-saving alternative for small studios, it also invites anyone to produce and perform their ideas when not in the studio. Whether it is used for live performances or for inspiring production sessions outdoors, the MiniLab 3 will always serve as the ideal companion. The 25 keys, pleasantly weighted for a keyboard controller of this size, are perfect for quickly and expressively realising musical ideas, no matter where. And thanks to the pedal input on the rear panel, users can also connect sustain pedals for an even more expressive playing style.

k
Great controller for this money

Great keyboard. The keys themselves swing higher than all analogues for the same price. A little lacking in the number of pads. Not as portable as its counterparts, but it feels much more well-build.

K
very tough to beat, at this price
K_Dua 14.11.2024
i ordered this keyboard thinking i'd be getting 25 extra keys with a great Ableton controller.
This was confirmed.
I think Arturia has the best quality MIDI keyboards at this price tier.. and generally on the ones above as well.
Novation has launched the MK4 controllers, though, and with the 37 keys models i'd rather go with them. That, and they've got 2 rows of pads, instead of just one, on the Arturia, which is what i really need.
Ideally, Arturia will launch a KeyStep update, and i'll get that, because i don't need more keyboards. What i need is a solid Ableton controller.
For the time being, i'm going with the Novation LaunchKey 37 MK4.
Having said this, if you're getting the MiniLab 3, you'll be getting a really good product. The keys are bigger and better, compared to the Novation. It's just a tougher decision to make, if you're more in need of a Ableton/MIDI controller , than a keyboard.

A
Arturia MiniLab 3 White
Arsen_Saryyev 22.03.2024
One of the main advantages of the MiniLab 3 is its compact size and portability. This controller fits easily on a desk or in a bag, making it convenient for use at home, in the studio, or at outdoor performances. Its compact design and light weight make it ideal for creative work in any environment.

In addition, the Arturia MiniLab 3 White provides a wide range of controllers for managing sounds and software parameters. It features 25 keys with post-press sensitivity, 16 encoders, 8 droom pads, and plenty of buttons for assigning various functions. This allows musicians to quickly and easily control the sounds, effects and parameters of their software, making their creative process more efficient and productive.

Just as importantly, the Arturia MiniLab 3 White comes with a rich set of software, including virtual instruments and effects from Arturia, which expands its functionality and capabilities in music creation. This allows musicians to start working on their projects immediately after purchase, making the MiniLab 3 a great choice for beginners and experienced musicians alike.

k
Decent midi controller
kammo 11.02.2023
The controller is very nice, Arturia never disappoints when it comes to design. It would be good if the scripts for individual DAWs were even more comprehensive. Minilab 3 can still be improved with future firmware upgrades. The keys are good but very sensitive, the knobs and faders are excellent, the pads are a little too hard to press and it would be good if the transport controls were separated from the pads, it's a bit clumsy to use Shift + Pad. Fortunately, the velocity for keys and pads (and aftertouch) can be adjusted as desired through the MCC application. After 2 months of using Minilab 3 I am satisfied, for the price it is definitely worth it.
