Really clean and detailed sound
Violet Deer 26.05.2019
I bought them for my home recording studio mainly to be used for mixing purposes and it was good decision.

They are isolating all noises around really well, I'm able to listen to music on low volume and I can still hear everything clearly.
At the same time they still breathe which makes them one of the most comfortable headphones in that price range, their size is good and they fit perfectly on ears, default pads work nice (additional velvet pads are included for those who need something with softer touch).

I use them with coiled cable (it's also included) which allows me to keep my workplace out of unneeded additional cables lying around.

Overall quality is good - they are made out of durable materials (unintentionally dropped them & pulled the cable few times and I can say that it's impossible to destroy them during normal work)

If you are looking for good studio headphones - you are in the right place.

Depends what you want.

These headphones are very good.
They have a neutral sound and make very decent monitors.
They plastic is light but durable and not cheap feeling. I've had headphones from other expensive brands with much more substantial plastics that broke over time. I'm pretty sure I could play football with these and not worry about them breaking (you can twist them into a ball).
The drivers aren't overly powerful so sound levels can be lower than some other headphone options and people will know what your listening to as they dont keep in all the sound. But that being said, They are loud enough for purpose, and dont leak as much as some other options from AKG. I know I will have these a very long time.
Pros
Durable, great sound. (neutral) Great for studio/home.
Cons
People will hear to a degree what you hear (so prob not best for public transport).

Great for monitoring
Anonymous 19.07.2015
I use the AKG K-271 MKII headphones with my Yamaha THR10 amp while playing quitar at home for not to disturb my family. For this kind of use the headphones are excellent. As the headphones have basicly a flat eq curve from low frequencies to the high treble, they are very suitable for monitoring ? for which I used them also in my past occupation in radio some time ago. Actually I feel that with these headphone I can distinguish the effect of minor amp adjustments more precisely than from the loudspeaker of the small amp itself.

If you are looking to buy them for hifi use, outside of classical music you may be disappointed to the non-amplified base, but in classical music you would value the preciseness of these headphones.

The are so comfortable on your head that one easily forgets any recommendation for not to listen with headphones on for more that an hour a day, one simply forgets that the headphones are there. The cord length was enough, though to increase freedom of movement I also purchased an extension cord.

The package had also replacement ear pads, so I expect to be using these for a long time.

Definitely a good purchase for a monitoring purpose.

Awesome sound at this price point
Honza Z 29.12.2020
I am an owner of AKG K702 and previous owner of Shure SRH 840. Switched to AKG K702 ater my Shures broke and was blown away by the sound of K702s (very flat response, fantastic soundscape, fantastic soundscape, great for learning new stuff by ear). However, the K702s are open back, and I needed a closed-back alternative for several reasons. K271s were a good choice -- share the overall sound of the K702s, with a slightly stronger bass response, slightly harsher upper mids, slightly worse soundscape imho, but hey, for the price, they are excellent.

The build quality is OK, just feels somewhat cheap compared to the K702s -- the cables ale less flexible and the plastics and ear pads look cheap somehow. But they are very comfy to wear and lightweight, too -- unlike the SRH 840s, which very on the heavy side, and if I wore them for a longer time, my head was overheating. :) OTOH, the 840s were blocking the outside noise a tad better.

Incredible headphones
Anonymous 10.04.2017
Got these for work after getting a pair of AKG K-240 Studios for at home and loving them. I wanted a closed version for work because of the noiser environment.

The sound exactly what I've come to expect from AKG, absolutely incredible. I've tested these with a good mix of heavy music and some classic rock. Heavy down tuned guitars still sound as clear as they should and dont get muddy, and the highs are crisp and not tinny.

Even without music playing they are very isolating, I can have my music's volume very low and still not hear any background noise in the office.

They're equally light and comfortable as the K240 Studio set, though they are a little bit tighter, probalby because they are newer, and not to the point of being uncomfortable.

I personally wont be using the coiled cable but its nice to have as you could definitely wear these while out and about without worrying about having to ha ve the volume too loud to drown out noise. I'm undecided about the velvet pads but nice to have the option.

The mute when you take them off is also very cool, not 100% sure what I might need it for, but its very cool.

AKG K-271 MKII: 9 months usage review
Basarab 29.08.2019
I use them in my home studio for multiple purposes: tracking, mixing, leisure listening. They do their job great and there haven't been any issues so far.

Prior to these I've had a pair of 10$ Philips headphones, so AKG was a huge update for me.

Pros:
1. Great sound quality. The bass is not hyped, mids are moderately crisp.
2. Great build quality. It can also fit all head sizes, which for me is rather important as I can rarely find a pair of headphones that can comfortably fit my head. The same for hats and caps, but that's another story.
3. Two detachable cables, two pairs of ear pads (I use the velvet ones).
4. Worth every penny.

Cons:
My sitting posture is slightly slouched, so the firm end of the cable sometimes bears against my shoulder.

If you are not sure whether those are good for you, you may consider buying Beyerdynamics DT770 Pro. I bought AKGs because they were a bit cheaper. If the budget is not an issue, take a look at DT770.

the best

I use these headphones now for about 5 months. I have previously used the K301 AKG . There are worlds between these two thomann headphones. On the one hand it is closed which means you can hear outside the headphones very little (which applications for Studio is very important ) and if you wear the headphones you can hear . By the sound around very little , if anything, more

The sound - thomann This is not a hi-fi headphones what is here does not attempt to fine the sound through internal EQ changes , but in this headphones was trying to produce the most natural and uncolored sound. What is it to be possible very important in the recording. In this headphones this strength was very good thomann implemented especially in a low price range .

Comfort - There are two sets of ear pads while , once the velor upholstery and even the leather upholstery. With both you have a comfortable feeling when you wearing it and even after hours. No press or pressure points . Processing - The processing is thomann very robust, which is also a huge large bonus that you can replace the cable . Again, there are two here . A rigid cable with 5m and a coiled cord with 3m ( which is optimal in the Live Mixer) . If you damage the cable once it is changed to 10 seconds.

What thomann I noticed is negative - The Auto -switch to a "hot " headphones in the studio to avoid , is not quite as reliable. If you are not 100 % has the headphones no sound comes out . For people with small heads a problem. But otherwise, not to remember.
Would I buy it again? thomann Yes and I highly recommend him if you are not willing to spend the triple .

Excellent for both the studio and casual listening
bananu7 02.03.2019
I bought them as my 2nd pair from AKG after owning K240 before. They're a bit heavier and wider, no doubt because of the closed construction. That being said, the sound is really similar, with a bit more full, yet still very controlled low-end.

My main use for them is listening to music at work. The closed construction filters the outside noise quite well, and after applying some EQ they sound really, really high-def, while still being welcoming and not putting too much strain after hours of listening. Compared to e.g. K550, they're much less shrill in the high-end spectrum, but don't lose any of the clarity. I'd say that for casual listening, paired with a proper EQ they're on par with the mid range Sennheiser models costing about twice as much.

The studio use is where they truly shine, though. I use them for silent band practices as well and they're just as good as the K240.

The build quality is great, and the addition of soft ear pads was a really nice touch, because the leather-ish ones were making me sweat underneath.
