Ahead Sex Wax
I have very dry skin, and I find that drum sticks tend to slip out of my hands a lot.
I was getting sick of using stick/finger tape, as I find it just starts to peel off after a few sessions from the sticks.
When I got this I said I'd just try it, and was I surprised! I keep it in an old Nivea hand cream tub, and before every gig, and practice I take it out and give it a good rub into my hands rather than on the stick as I find this creates better traction.
I will never look back after using the Ahead Wax. It washes off very easily after a gig, and it also prevents your hands tom sweating too much, as my friend borrowed mine to try it out.
10/10.
An amazing product that I would recommend to all my dry skin brothers in arms out there!

Personal choice really
I find that this stuff works for me. You've got to apply it when your hands are dry, before you are pouring sweat because at that point it won't adhere to the stick or your hand.
Best is to apply directly to stick.
It makes your hands gross and your sticks gross and your kit eventually marked up and gross, but these things can be cleaned. It helps with grip somewhat. It is awful on coated rough heads.
I don't think it is an essential, I think a sweat rag is an essential, but I found it does help prevent slippage and gives a little more confidence in a looser grip and more articulate fulcrum playing.
It smells kind of neutral and inoffensive, I'd suggest trying it because it is cheap and will last forever.

If you have dry hands skin - this is a product that you need.
I rub this wax to my drumsticks before practice or live show and it provides good grip with the stick. But most important it doesn't feel messy or gross.
Bonus - it smells so good. I wish my car would smell like this wax :)

Least invasive grip solution
I've tried gloves, wraps, gig grips. They're all fine, but are a pain to put on and remove, and you are stuck if you are ever on the gig without them.
Sex wax is awesome, you don't need to put much on and no matter how sweaty you get the sticks stay grippy. It also stays on for many uses so you don't need to apply it that often.
The only downside is that it mixes with the dirt on your hands and turns in to a black gunk on your stick. This is only an aesthetic issue, and it's easy to remove from the stick just by rubbing it.

Finally somethings that works
I've very dry skin and slipping sticks have always been an issue for me. I've tried sticks with grip, I've tried gloves and nothing sticked (haha). But this. This really works.

mmmmm
I used to use Vic Firth Vic Grip sticks, as it reduces hand strain, and reduces the amount of time a stick flies out of my grip into a guitarist (although not when he messes up). I however, found my ideal pair of sticks, but they're not vic grips so I wanted the same feel.
This product works actually better than the vic grip, but you have to regularly reapply it, and it can easily pick up dirt.
It is super grippy, works fantastically! It also has a nice smell to it.

Significantly enhances the control of the sticks and their sense of play, especially suitable for those with dry skin. Also there are no problems with cleaning, I just put it on my sticks, and I do not need to wash my hands after playing

Works perfectly
I have used Zildjian's Dip Sticks for grip but have been trying to replace them for a while. I came closest to something I like with unfinished sticks but they're hard to find.
I bought the Sex Wax for laughs and a conversation starter, but it turns out that it works perfectly. Sure, there is a residue on the sticks (and your fingers) but I haven't got any problems with the sticks slipping regardless of what finish they have. Excellent.

Probably the best thing for your stick!
On long hot gigs and rehearsals I have always had problems with sweaty hands and sticks that are dropped or thrown through the room because of wet hands and slippery sticks. I was at first a little sceptical about this product before I tried it, but I am really happy with the results! It really gives a great grip, non sticky and easy to wash off of both hands and the sticks after using it. I have already recommended this product to all my drumming friends. I feel more confident now when I don't have to worry about losing the grip.
